At the age of 10 he obeyed the gospel and was baptized by his grandfather, Brother James A. Caldwell. He graduated from Riverdale High School in 1999. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Wynetta Caldwell; uncle, Ronnie Caldwell; aunts, Linda Lytle, Cathy Caldwell and Phyllis Caldwell. DeJuan leaves to mourn - his parents, Roger and Beverly Duke; two children, Caleeya Ramiyah-Pearl Duke and Javon Demalo Fennessee; a brother, Alvin Duke; grandparents, Claude and Sue Duke; great- grandparents, Birdie Reeves Claybrooks and Tom Caldwell; aunts, Freda (William) Porter and Monique Wilson; uncle, Ray Duke; cousins, Shellie (Quenshawn) Nelson, Tyrone (Katie) Duke, Travis (Ty) Duke, Alexia Duncan, and Olivia Duncan; a host of other relatives and friends. DeJuan touched our hearts in many ways. We will remember how DeJuan loved to make you laugh, aggravate you and of course he always had to have the last word. You could never be bored with DeJuan in the room and his spot-on impersonations. He could pour on the charm. DeJuan loved to dance and dress to impress. He danced with the Riverdale Half Timers in school. DeJuan had a special love for his children. You could see the spark in his eyes whenever he saw them or talked about them. Caleeya has his spunk and Javon has his energy. DeJuan will truly be missed.
